| The Section on Psychosis focuses primarily on neurocognitive and psychophysiological functioning in individuals with schizophrenia and related disorders, using a wide range of specific assessment paradigms. Research programs in this Initiative are based on the premise that neurocognitive performance deficits and psychophysiological abnormalities are core, enduring aspects of these disorders that are critical to etiology, pathophysiology, and treatment. In terms of outcome, these deficits and abnormalities are viewed as critical for daily functioning of psychiatric patients. |
