For the 22nd consecutive year, U.S. News and World Report has named Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center "Best in the West." UCLA Ear, Nose, and Throat inpatient care was ranked 11th out of more than 1400 hospitals nationwide. </p>

<li>The UCLA Department of Head and Neck Surgery is widely acclaimed for having established the first <a href="http://headandnecksurgery.ucla.edu/body.cfm?id=40">Voice Center</a>
on the West Coast in 2005 and having played a central role in the development of novel treatments for voice disorders, such as surgery for spasmodic dysphonia, vocal cord paralysis, and airway stenosis. </li>
<li>Through the efforts of the <a href="http://headandnecksurgery.ucla.edu/body.cfm?id=36">Otology/Neurotology</a>
faculty, UCLA has become the established center for <a href="http://headandnecksurgery.ucla.edu/body.cfm?id=63">cochlear implantation</a>
, one of only a handful of facilities in Southern California where the life-changing procedure is performed. </li>
<li>Our department has achieved a success rate that exceeds 99% in performing approximately 1,300 <a href="http://headandnecksurgery.ucla.edu/body.cfm?id=34">microvascular reconstructive surgeries</a>
during the 15 years since this program was established. Our institutional success rate currently equals or exceeds that reported by all other medical centers in the world. </li>
